The best IBD app depends on what you need it to do.
Mirae and My IBD Care are built around inflammatory bowel disease. Bearable is a configurable health tracker. Cara Care offers a German prescription IBS programme; an older consumer tracker listing was last updated in 2020. Juno covers chronic illness broadly. Oshi Health connects eligible US adults with independent virtual GI care providers.
These are different categories, not six versions of the same app.
How we compared
We checked intended user, main job, logging effort, IBD specificity, medicines, food, emotions, laboratory markers, wearable and health-record connections, appointment preparation, licensed clinical care, price, availability and limitations.

Mirae
Mirae is an AI-based everyday guide for people living with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis and for people organising persistent gut symptoms while they seek answers. It is free, with no paid plan, trial or card required.
Mirae's mission is to map your fastest way to remission. In practical terms, that means reducing avoidable delay by helping people capture what is changing, bring medical and daily context together, see patterns and ask better questions about what comes next.
Type or snap a photo to record symptoms, food, IBD and non-IBD medicines, emotions, questions and markers such as CRP or faecal/fecal calprotectin. With permission, Mirae can connect available health records through HealthEx and wearable data such as sleep and heart rate.
Mirae's Pre-Visit feature, in the Mirae app or on the web, creates a focused appointment agenda and health summary that you can review, save as a PDF and share with your clinician.
The route is different for everyone. Mirae does not diagnose IBD, choose treatment, promise when remission will happen or automatically send information to a clinician. Its role is to keep the information and questions moving with the patient through diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.
Mirae is also building academic, research and care-provider relationships to improve support across the course of IBD.
My IBD Care
My IBD Care is an IBD-specific app co-created with NHS clinicians and patients, including two London hospitals. It tracks symptoms, flare patterns, medicines, mood, sleep and stress, and includes clinician-created courses and ElenaAI.
ElenaAI provides non-medical guidance, pattern support and appointment preparation. ElenaAI is optional and paid; the UK App Store currently lists Elena7 at £2.39 and Elena30 at £9.99, with trial and final pricing shown in the app.
The app can be downloaded internationally, but its clinical integration is UK-specific. Check whether your hospital participates; flare reports are not monitored in real time and response times vary.

Bearable
Bearable is a general health and chronic-illness tracker. Its free app includes unlimited custom symptom, mood and metric tracking, weekly reports and a customisable graph.
Premium adds unrestricted history, correlation reports, unlimited goals and experiments. Bearable also supports Apple Health, Google Fit and direct Fitbit integration. It suits people who want to design their own tracking system across several conditions; IBD terminology and GI appointment structure are not its starting point.

Cara Care
Cara Care's current site describes a German-language prescription IBS therapy, free on prescription for covered patients, with food and symptom tracking.
Its personalised content includes recipes, hypnosis, exercises and quizzes. A separate consumer tracker remains listed on Google Play, but it was last updated in 2020, so its current support, features and availability could not be verified.
The old consumer listing and current German prescription programme should not be treated as the same current product.

Juno
Juno is an AI companion for chronic and invisible illnesses. It supports voice and text conversation, symptom, energy, pain and wellbeing tracking, pattern exploration, pacing, emotional support and shareable appointment reports. Juno advertises health-record and biometric inputs, but does not publicly name the supported providers or connection methods.
Juno presents one broad companion experience for fibromyalgia, POTS, ME/CFS, endometriosis, lupus, IBS, long COVID and many other conditions. That breadth may suit a multi-condition life. It does not begin with the medicine, marker, bowel and gastroenterology context of an IBD-specific product.
Juno is free to download with in-app purchases. Check the current local storefront price.

Oshi Health
Oshi Health is a virtual GI care platform connecting eligible US adults with independent licensed providers, not a self-directed tracker. Care teams can include GI providers, registered dietitians, gut-brain specialists and gastroenterologists.
Oshi can provide clinical assessment and a care plan. Care coordinators can help retrieve records and coordinate external referrals or procedures; clinical services depend on state law and individual need. Oshi also provides app messaging and a 24/7 support line. Access depends on insurance, employer benefits or US$150 pay-per-visit access. It is not available outside the United States and does not currently accept Medicare or Medicaid.

Before choosing
Check the current country availability, price, free limits, privacy policy, export and deletion controls, and whether a promised clinical connection applies to your hospital or insurance.
Then check the burden. An app that needs perfect entries on bad days will not produce a useful record.
Disclosure
Mirae Health publishes this guide and makes Mirae. The other companies did not contribute. This is a commercial product comparison, not an independent medical review or ranking of treatment quality.
Features, prices and availability were checked on 18 August 2026 and can change. Mirae does not diagnose, prescribe or replace clinical care. Rapidly worsening symptoms and medication questions need an appropriate medical professional rather than an app.
